NPS

Net Promoter Score

A score from 0 to 10 that measures how likely customers are to recommend the company/product to someone else.

What it is

NPS is calculated from the question "on a scale of 0 to 10, how likely are you to recommend...". Whoever answers 9-10 is a promoter, 7-8 is passive, 0-6 is a detractor. The final score is % promoters − % detractors.

NPS = % of Promoters − % of Detractors

Where else it shows up

🤝 Sales

Promoter customers become a source of referrals and sales case studies.

Example: The sales team uses a list of customers with NPS 10 as references when selling to new prospects.

📣 Marketing

Promoters are invited to leave public testimonials and reviews.

Example: A campaign asks for a public review only from customers who gave a 9 or 10 on NPS.
